As someone who witnessed the results of rape more than once including on a close friend, I just don't understand it. It is one of the most complete and total violations of one's person. It is violent, dehumanizing, degrading and really triggers a lot of psychological and trust issues.

That being said, there's a very distinct line between rough and consensual violent play. When I get into "that" mood, I enjoy hair pulled, being lightly choked, ass spanked into a deep red, hard pounding, etc. But that's very different than rape.
